The International Conference “Family and the Culture of Peace in Moldova Republic”

The organization of the conference was supported by:
The Republican Movement “Teachers for Reciprocal Peace and Understanding”
The Confederation of Charity Associations from the Republic of Moldova
The Branch from the Republic of Moldova of the International Education Foundation from America (IEF)
The Universal Peace Federation (UPF)
At this conference were invited teachers from different levels of the public and private education, leaders of NGOs, ethnic and religious communities, active volunteers interested in the renaissance of the family as a key institution in the creation of the culture of peace in the Republic of Moldova. November 19th, 2006 – at Chisinau – was a red-letter day for each member of the culture of peace from the Republic of Moldova and for the most conscious citizens of our land.
I saw many smiles, many positive emotions which can not be seen every day. I am proud of myself that I was present at this conference of international level and I could express my thoughts and ideas which bother me for a long time. I have many friends around who say that they don’t have the possibility to express themselves, to be heard, to develop themselves and to remodel the surrounding world according to their goodwill. They have a big problem: they can not make the first step; they lack courage that would help them find their fated activity.
I accomplished my goal. I found out many things from the message brought by the influential persons “Ambassadors for Peace”. By the way, it is a good tradition to appoint at the anniversary several Ambassadors for Peace who have merits in the field in society, family and not only.
What a surprise it was for an invited my teacher of pedagogy who was appointed Ambassador for Peace – it was a pleasant surprise of course.
I understood that religion, race, sex don’t matter; the only thing that matter is the soul and its sorrows, this gathers us, this gives us new hopes for future to have courage to stand up even when the burden of the soul puts us down.
Don’t lose heart regarding this honest purpose!
It was an activity which brought a lot of results. Several workshops were formed in which important social issues were discussed: family, peace, the community, the altruist spirit in any difficult situation and decent living for everyone.
The purposes of the conference actually were:
To fortify and support family, school and community potential in establishing the culture of peace;
To attract the attention of the community and the decision factors on the fatal effect of the process of migration of the population upon the institution of family and active involving of schools and of non-profitable sector in the rural localities for the improvement of the negative impact of bringing up children without parents;
To promote family values from the prospect of national goals of European integration, as a key factor in the formation of citizen identity and responsibility.
About the partner of the conference: the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) is a global alliance of individuals and of organizations dedicated to building a peaceful world, the world in which all could live in peace, harmony, cooperation and common prosperity. UPF is guided by humankind vision like a global family under the leadership of God, which lives according to the universal principles.
Core objectives of the Universal Peace Federation include the promotion of:
Reformation and consolidation of the UN, as well as of its economic and social councils;
Partnership between governments, religions and civil society;
Culture of peace through education, sports, art, mass-media and public utility;
Inter-religious cooperation, prevention and solving of conflicts;
Sustainable and loving family life.
This conference was organized within the culture of peace and nonviolence decade (2001-2010) proclaimed at the international level by the General Assembly of the United Nations.
All guests had the possibility to present the activities of their organization or a paper of the institution where they act directed towards the strengthening of the role of family in establishing the culture of peace in the Republic of Moldova. It was an opportunity to make the community of NGOs and educational institutions acquainted with the achievements of the participants, as well as to find new friends and partners for common projects and to find useful information for researches or for the development of the present organizations through discussions as part of the meetings on sections.
I don’t think it is a loss of time. I develop; I meet new people to whom I can speak anytime.
It is not hard for you to try it too. This is possible. Find a person among those who took part in this conference and ask him/her to help you, thus you will find out, heard and understood. The future is in your hands. Decide!
